Boot Camp
I did it! I just completed boot camp! This is something I've been wanting to do for sooo long and after three babies practically in a row I was so ready to reclaim my body! So... I've been getting up three mornings a week at 5:00 A.M. for the past month and going to boot camp. It was such an awesome experience! I can honestly say I've been changed for the better in more ways than one. Yes, I lost inches, but I also feel so accomplished and more confident. I've gained a much better understanding of what it means to work out intensely. I LOVED running in the dark every morning and doing drills even in the rain. One morning it was 32 degrees outside. If I were really brave I'd show you before and after pictures. I'll spare you. I will share one hero pose, however, so enjoy.

My favorite child today
My big boy, Mason, is 3 1/2 and was in serious contention for favorite child today.
Most days my big man can be found near this position at the rim. He loves sports, especially basketball.
Sometimes he can be found in this position. He loves to watch sports. Thumb in mouth, blankie at hand. The other day he said, "Hey mom, have you seen my blankie? Its green and its shiny." Like I didn't know! So cute and so kissable, that kid. Thank goodness for Mason.
Mason is an awesome big brother and just a great kid. He also loves Cars and playing Tinkertoys.

Our Backyard
Spring in Texas has been glorious this year! Almost every week for weeks on end have been highs in the 70's, lows in the 50's. Awesome.
I'm so glad that last Fall we spent the money and got this done:
The kids (all three) spend hours on end in our backyard now. They love to swing, dig and play lots of ghost in the graveyard (basically a souped up version of hide and seek-- Greg and I both played that a ton growing up).

Mason is in heaven with shovels and rakes digging in the sticks. Megan spends a ton of time making obstacle courses for herself and swinging. Connor just likes to stand in the breeze holding his shovel or rake, sort of an American Gothic pose. Anyway... he likes to be outside and he is working on how to walk down our slope without falling. This Spring is absolute heaven on Earth!

Foodie Wannabe
Indulge me for a moment as I pretend I'm some kind of foodie blogger. This is a picture of the awesome dinner I made tonight(see recipe below from my friend Jessica Quensar). I was so proud of myself and so excited to enjoy a nice meal together with my family. Well, at least 1.5 of us enjoyed it.
Greg's flight home from a day in Houston was delayed 3 hours so he was stuck eating airport food at Houston Hobby. My older two darlings, in typical darling form, of course were not so cooperative. The eldest choked down the required 5 bites before being excused to go to bed half full. Number 2 literally gagged and spit out his 3rd bite. So much for all my hopes and dreams that THIS was finally the meal they would enjoy.
However, darling number 3 and I enjoyed a lovely meal and time together at the table which included this picture of #3 finally learning to let the laws of gravity work for him and sippy cup.
This morning I felt like such a good little mama when the kids and I made these scratch bran muffins. This time they ate up! I guess they were hungry from last night.
1 lb bowtie pasta, cooked
1 10 oz bag fresh spinach
1 cup craisins
3 cans mandarine oranges
1 bunch green onions, chopped
1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
1/4 cup sesame seeds, toasted
1 cup honey roasted peanuts
1 can chopped water chestnuts
2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
Mix altogether, set aside some dressing if too much.So yummy! Dressing:
1 cup vegetable oil
2/3 cup white wine vinegar
4 T. sugar (I used stevia for half)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

My name is Connor
My name is Connor and I'm REALLY cute.
I like to stick out my tongue when I'm working really hard. See...
I really like to climb on things. Like my best pal the dishwasher...
And here...
I really don't like this gate. Its pretty much the bane of my existence because I really love to climb on stairs.
I'll be one years old in 10 days, but I've already been walking like a champ for 2 1/2 months. My mommy calls me her little pumpkin and says she's going to make me into a pumpkin pie. I guess I'm yummy and cute!
